Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana house, in Springfield IL, was one of his earliest homes for a very wealthy client, who therefore had the means and inclination to allow Wright the full range of his artistic expression.  Wright not only designed the building, but also hundreds of art glass windows, lamps, light fixtures, pieces of furniture, murals — much of the contents of the house as well.  Unlike many other Wright homes which have had much of the original art glass, furnishings and other object sold, and substantial modifications made to the structure, the Dana house today remains much as Wright intended it to be seen, and is now owned by the state of Illinois under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.  The home is open for tours on a regular basis, see the Dana Thomas foundation site for details.
