John Lisle Vette married Elsie Louise Pratt, the daughter of Susan Beachy – owner of the Wright house at 238 Forest. It appears that this house may have been purchased as a "dowry" for Elsie; title to the house remained in Susan Beachy's name until 1932.
Vette was a successful lawyer and was active in Oak Park civic affairs. The Vettes moved to 611 Euclid in 1936. Elsie died in 1953 and John in 1965.
William Barfield was born in England and moved to the United States at the age of 21. In 1902 he lived at 325 Home Ave in Oak Park. He moved to Hinsdale in 1904 and completed many buildings, both commercial and residential, there.
