This stick style house
was built by John Kirkpatrick in 1889. Little is known about John
Kirkpatrick and his wife Mary. They only remained in the house until
1899, then moved to 325 S. Euclid where Mary died in 1901, aged 39. John
Kirkpatrick's occupation was a cheese merchant.
New owners purchased the house in 1997 and set out to do a complete restoration. While the restoration was underway a fire broke out and the house was significantly damaged. The owners however continued with the restoration and repaired the damage caused by the fire while retaining as much of the original fabric of the building as possible. They reversed many of the changes previous owners had made, attempting to return the house to its original appearance as much as possible. |
