This small house is now surrounded by large apartment buildings. It was set near the north property of its lot, leaving a large area to the south of the building which remains today. The flat roof, recessed windows and projecting trellises are characteristic of Wright's work after his Prairie period. The original rear porch has been enclosed, and a room added above it.
Bach was the foreman of the Bach Brick company. During World War I he was a government information officer, with access to a supply of walnut, then controlled by the army. A single tree was used througout for the trim.
