This is another remodeling of an existing building. The Coman farmhouse was built in the 1870s. In 1895, it was sold to H. P. Young.  Later that year, Young hired Frank Lloyd Wright to remodel the home.  He moved the original house back 16½ feet and designed an addition.  The front two-thirds of the structure was designed by Wright.  Wright added the living room, over half the dining room, library, reception room, foyer, entry and first floor porch.  Rooms added on the second floor include the master bedroom, master bath, study, hall bath, and part of another bedroom.  Wright increased the slope of the roof and added the rectilinear brick chimney.  The half timbering and pointed window in the front gable give the house a medieval feel.  The front porch features semi-circular cantilevers at each end – port cochere at north, conservatory at south.  The entrance to the front porch is concealed behind a protruding wall.

Harrison P. Young was a purchasing agent for the Fraser & Chalmers company, which later became known as Allis-Chalmers, a well known manufacturer of farming equipment.  The remodeling cost $12,000, a large sum for 1895.  The Youngs resided here until 1907.
