You are here Melville commissioned this work from Roberts just a year after he had the smaller house to the west built for his daughter.  This house clearly shows Wright's influence; it is one of Robert's most successful Prairie houses.  The stucco exterior, wide overhanging eaves and bands of windows are features found in most of Wright's Oak Park houses.  But, perhaps as a result of his interest in historic revival architecture, Roberts also uses elongated Italianate style brackets, which seem to be dripping down the house.
