Address: 8 Elizabeth Court
Architect: Unknown
Year Built: 1871

Originally built at the southwest corner of Kenilworth and Erie in 1871, this house was moved to its present location in 1899.  This Gothic revival cottage features a steeply pitched gable roof, thin dorrmers, pointed windows and a quatrefoil in the front gable screen.  The shutters, front porch and entranceway sidelights are all later additions.

Rev Roy was a prominent figure - he petitioned for the abolition of slavery directly to President Lincoln.  He died in 1908 at age 82.  His son lived in the Queen Anne house right next door.
