Darwin Martin House

The Martin house, with its conservatory and connecting pergola is one of Wright's largest prairie style homes.  Abandoned after the Martins encountered difficult financial difficulties during the depression, it lay vacant for years.  A portion of the property was sold off and an apartment building constructed, the conservatory and pergola were demolished.  Today, the propety is being restored to its original condition.  A restoration committe has been formed to raise the money for the restoration.  They have already purchased the apartment building that is on the property, and will eventually demolish it and rebuild the pergola and conservatory.  Tours of the house are available, click here for details.
