Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
9400 W. Congress St, Wauwatosa

Wright's plans for this structure are from 1956; however he did not live to see the completion of the construction in 1961.  Although the project is very different from a traditional Greek orthodox church, Wright uses the Greek Cross inscribed in a circle as the basis for the plan; this design also appears in many detail elements.

The roof is a concrete dome originally covered with blue ceramic tiles – these were later replaced by a synthetic plastic resin when they began to flake.  The roof dome is set on steel balls that allow it to expand and contract with the weather conditions.  Art glass designs by Eugene Masselink were never executed; other art glass windows were installed years after the building was completed.
