Original Owner:    Maurice Greenberg
Address: 3902 Highway 67, Dousman
Year Built: 1954

This house, like Taliesin, is cantilevered from the brow of a hill, with its surrounding balcony hovering over a large boulder on the hillside.  An entrance road meanders through the 40 acres site, winding its way to the courtyard at the back of the house.  In plan the house is a Y without the stem, using a 4' by 4' unit grid.  The home was originally designed to be built of stone, but was changed to brick because of the constantly increasing price of stone as the house was being built.  The master bedroom wing has yet to be built, but the Greenbergs stockpiled sufficient brick to realize those plans eventually.
