The Jackson house was originally located in Madison, on a long sloping site overlooking the University arboretum. It was relocated to Beaver Dam when the original site was sold for commercial development. This house was one of the Marshall Erdman pre-fab designs. Wright had previously designed a house for the Jacksons in 1954 which was never constructed. Instead the Jackson's decided to go with the "pre-fab" design. Arnold Jackson was Wright's personal physician in the early 1950's.
The house is designed around a limestone core with board and batten horizontal siding. The sloping site allows for a lower level, which was not designed by Wright.
