This small house design was another of the plans Wright designed for Arthur Richards for his American Systems Ready-Cut series. The plan was to cut the lumber for these houses at the factory and ship it to the site ready for construction. The project was announced in March, 1917, just a month before the United States entered World War One, likely bringing a premature end to Wright's dream of providing beautiful, affordable housing to Americans of even modest means.
The original open terrace of the house has since been enclosed. The house was designed to sell for $1,835.
