Original Owner:    Richard Smith
Address: 332 E. Linden Drive, Jefferson
Year Built: 1950

The Smith house turns its back to the street – Wright's plans indicate that the position of the house was selected so that it wraps around a large oak tree at the center of the property (clearly visible in the photo above).  The living, dining and master bedrooms surround, and are open to the central terrace which contains the oak tree (see photo below).  Two other bedrooms are in a wing with an extended roofline which teminates in the carport on the street side.  The house is constructed of Wisconsin limestone and cypress boards; the roof is topped with cedar shingles.
